Headquartered in Jacksonville, FL, Dominion Engineering Group has been serving Northeast Florida for over 20 years. Our principals and staff have planned and engineered hundreds of civil engineering projects for private, municipal, and federal clients. As experts in land planning and development engineering, we take personal ownership of every project—reflected in our name, 'Dominion'—to ensure quality, efficiency, and excellence in everything we do.
Our Mission
Dominion Engineering Group provides an extremely high level of client service, administrative management, and technical expertise, typically found only in large national engineering companies. Our goal is to offer our clients the proficiency of large engineering firms in a “one-on-one,” friendly office environment where everyone is welcomed and appreciated. We focus on delivering quality, on-time deliverables, managed by proven administrative and financial processes. This shows in our record of repeat work from existing clients, which is 90% annually. Meet Our Leadership
BILL SCHAEFER | President/Principal
With over 30 years of experience in civil engineering, Bill Schaefer has grown the presence of DEG throughout Northeast Florida. His experience, focus, resourcefulness and trust in building relationships with each client has earned the Dominion Engineering Group a true presence within the civil engineering community. Bill graduated from the University of Florida with a BSCE in Civil Engineering and later pursued his Masters in Environmental/Civil Engineering. Bill is a Board member with the Northeast Florida Builders Association and very active in the Governmental Affairs Committee.

MIKE BOWLES | Vice President/Principal
Mike Bowles is VP and principal of Dominion Engineering Group. He provides senior project management and design oversight for our clients. He has extensive permitting experience through the St. Johns River Water Management District, Department of Environmental Protection, Florida Department of Transportation, Army Corps of Engineers, St. Johns County, City of Jacksonville and JEA.

Cindy Mardis | Project Coordinator/Office Manager
Cindy came on board DEG in 2024 and has worked in the development arena for many years. Her dedication to the DEG team and clients has truly made her a staple of the culture at Dominion Engineering. Cindy’s organizational activities include invoicing, accounts payable, managerial support to project managers.
